May has been an fast paced month for us over at Heimdall. We invited our new interns and have been rapidly onboarding new users everyday! With all the new talent joining us, everyone is hitting the ground running by quickly tackling our long backlog of software deliverables!

Company Updates

This month, we also got accepted into the Launch CLT startup cohort. We went through a rigorous application process with the team over at Launch CLT in order to join their organization. Through Launch CLT, two mentors are joining us to make better decisions. Both mentors have a decades of experience in their respective industries and we are excited to have their help guide our mission. Below is a little bit about our newest mentors.

David Kelbaugh

David is the Founder of Tacklebox Brand Partners. David is a marketing and advertising veteran who spent nearly 2 decades working at the largest and most renowned advertising agencies in the world (Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather, DraftFCB, Havas, to name a few). He has helped lead some of the most successful advertising campaigns of all-time (The Marlboro Man, Allstate’s Mayhem, BP’s Helios Power, and more). David and his teams have won international awards for creativity and effectiveness, including Cannes Lions, Effies, Addys, and more. He loves game shows and rollercoasters, is an avid reader of books on finance, has finished over 20 triathlons, is a graduate of The Voyageur Outward Bound School, only talks about his reality-show past when asked, and enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids.

Mark Di Pietro

Mark spent over 25 years at Honda, advancing through roles in quality management, sales, strategic planning, and marketing. In senior management, Mark focused on product development, associate development, and organizational structure. Passionate about food security, education, shelter, healthcare, and the environment, Mark is dedicated to contributing to society and the community. Ready to help organizations discover innovative ways to advance opportunities, Mark aims to foster positive change and productivity.

Evan Allen

Evan Allen is a General Partner & Co-Founder at the 9point8 Collective. Prior to founding 9point8, Evan planned, launched, and fixed companies in a range of verticals, serving as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Cogo Labs where he also founded, staffed, and led the venture responsible for fastest investment procurement to commercial launch in the studio’s history, doing so in only nine weeks. He is passionate about supporting early-stage founders and serves as Venture Partner for Reverifi and General Partner at B’More Venture Studio.

We are thankful for all the time & efforts of our mentors and look forward to building an incredible business in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Product Updates

May was also a big month for product updates as we are constantly refining our offerings to help make them more user friendly to our users. As always, we are hyper obsessed about our customers and make decisions purely on what the data suggests. Below is a high level summary of our May release:

• Exogenous variable support to forecasting
• New privacy policy updated along with privacy forward software upgrades
• Upgraded Heimdall ML hyper-parameter optimization to be 14x faster
• UI bug fixes to the model building process for ML & Forecast

We are also rapidly upgrading our core services to run on the RUST programming language. Rust is used for three essential purposes in programming: performance, safety, and memory management. While making our core services faster, we also want to provide these services at scale to our global user base.
